Gino Ferretti

Gino Ferretti, Rettore dell’Università di Parma, è nato nel 1948 a Reggio Emilia.
Si è laureato nel 1974 in Ingegneria Meccanica presso la Facoltà di Ingegneria di Bologna dove ha iniziato la sua carriera universitaria come Assistente presso la cattedra di Macchine.
Dal 1982 è stato professore associato di Impianti meccanici a Padova.
Nel 1986 ha vinto la cattedra di Progettazione di Impianti presso la Facoltà di Ingegneria di Trento e nel 1988 è stato chiamato a coprire la cattedra di Impianti Meccanici presso l’Università di Parma.
Tra le cariche ricoperte nell’Ateneo parmense vi sono quelle di Direttore del Dipartimento di Ingegneria Industriale, membro del Consiglio di Amministrazione, Presidente del Consiglio di Corso di Laurea in Ingegneria Meccanica ed Ingegneria Gestionale.
Dal 1 novembre 1998 al maggio 2000 è stato Preside della Facoltà di Ingegneria.
Fa parte di numerosi Consigli di associazioni scientifiche ed è stato, inoltre, dal ’94 al ’96 Presidente dell’Azienda Trasporti di Reggio Emilia (ATC).
Ha pubblicato numerose ricerche nell’ambito dell’impiantistica industriale.
Il 25 maggio 2000 è stato eletto Rettore dellUniversità degli Studi di Parma.

Gino Ferretti, the Rector of the University of Parma, was born in Reggio Emilia in 1948.
In 1974 he took his degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bologna, where he started his university career as assistant professor at the Chair of Machines.
In 1982 he was appointed associated professor of Mechanical Plants in Padova.
In 1986 he won the chair of Plant Engineering at the Engineering Faculty of Trento and in 1988 he was called to hold the professorship of Mechanical Plants at the University of Parma.
Among the offices held by Prof. Ferretti at the University of Parma there are those of Director of the Department of Industrial Engineering, member of Administrative Council, President of the Council of the degree course in Mechanical Engineering and Managing Engineering.
From november 1998 to May 2000 he was Dean of the Faculty of Engineering.
He is member of a number of Councils of Scientific associations and, besides, he was the President of the Company of Transport in Reggio Emilia (ATC) from 1994 to 1996.
He has published several researches on industrial plants.
On 25th may 2000 he was elected Rector of the University of Parma.
