Saint Ilario Award
Every year, starting from January 1987, on the occasion of the city's Patronal feast day, "The Saint Ilario Award" is awarded to the citizens:"...who have in some way contributed to improving the life of an individual and of the comunity;and to the raising of the city's prestige.."

In 1991, the Saint Ilario Award has been awared to:

The city of Parma's gold medal was awarded to VITTORIO ADORNI, for his sporting activity carried out for many years, with successes and recognition from every corner of the world.

The city of Parma's gold medal was awarded to GIANFRANCO ALBANESE, dean of the new department of Engineering, for having contributed to the opening of a new scientific horizon to many young people, for the boost of enthusiasm the department run by him gives; and will continue to give to research which is aimed at the scientific progress of our community.

The city of Parma's gold medal was awarded to BERNARDO BERTOLUCCI, a name which doesn't need presentation, the film director of international fame who first found his inspirations here in Parma, beginning a cultural subject which has brought him to take up the challenge of the big film industry without giving up his social, historical and cultural commitment.
The award was received by Dott. Pietro Ricciardelli.

The city of Parma's gold medal was awarded to PIERO CONCARI, pioneer in the building industry in Parma who has carried it out for forty-five years with prestigious recognitions in the national and international field. His company has worked in Libya, Oman, Iraq and more recently in Russia.

The city of Parma's gold medal was awarded to DON SERGIO SACCHI, a very active protagonist of the work of social worker for the weak and needy, which is ever more precious in a world where suffering and illnesses are on the increase.

The Certificate of Public Merit was awarded to VALDO FRANCESCHI, for the tireless activity in the sporting field, first as a protagonist and then as an organizer and manager, carried out for a good fifty years with enthusiasm and passion.

The Certificate of Public Merit was awarded to BRUNO LONGHI, a very well known name to the city for his activity carried out in the leather trade with products of particular and refined quality, appreciated on an international level.

The Certificate of Public Merit was awarded to SERGIO PASSERA, partisan, a protagonist for various years of the political and administrative activity of the city, today occupied in informing young people of our recent history, under the guidance of the "Istututo Storico della Resistenza di Parma", which has become an important centre of historical and cultural research. The award was received by Luigi Rastelli, the secretaty of the Institute.

The Certificate of Public Merit was awarded to LAURA POLIZZI, for her social and civil commitment which was born from the fight against the invaders of the last war and which has maintained itself through time with the fight for social justice and for the defence of the values of democracy.

The Certificate of Public Merit was awarded to MARCO ROSI, a very active businessman, who has made known and appreciated the city's name and its food specialities, showing himself also very interested in the recuperation of the great artistical heritages of the city.

The Certificate of Public Merit was awarded to LEONARDO TARANTINI, for his social and civil commitment which began with the command of the partisan troops during the Resistance and which has always continued in the service of timeless ideals of liberty, justice and the defence of democracy.

The Plaque of the city of Parma has gone to:
the memory of CLAUDIO MARCHINI - pilot.

There was a special mention for Mrs. ISMAIL MUSSE HAUA who is Somailan, and an Italian citizen since 1989, for having known on her own how to deal with, in a foreign country, with great self-denial and courage; the education and provision for five children, overcoming obstacles which derive from human nature and social and religious characteristics, with the aim of becoming part of the city's community.
