Saint Ilario Award
Every year, starting from January 1987, on the occasion of the city's Patronal feast day, "The Saint Ilario Award" is awarded to the citizens:"...who have in some way contributed to improving the life of an individual and of the comunity;and to the raising of the city's prestige.."

In 1989, the Saint Ilario Award has been awared to:

The city of Parma's Gold Medal was awarded to PIERLUIGI BORMIOLI, for having worked with skill and dedication in his own company, leading it to become one of the best of its own sector in the national and international field; and contributing to the well-being of the city and its inhabitants.

The city of Parma's Gold Medal was awarded to BALDASSARE MOLOSSI, distinguished journalist and writer, director of the "Gazzetta di Parma" for having contributed to the knowledge and achievement of the peculiar historical and cultural traditions of the city, spreading throughout our people the love for civil history, the knowledge of the present and awaiting the future.

The city of Parma's Gold Medal was awarded to ALDO NOTARI, for the enthusiasm and the commitment demonstrated in giving the boost to sporting activities, Parma being competitive and young, representing it with prestige - nationally.

The city of Parma's Gold Medal was awarded to MARIO TOMMASINI, for the civil battles fought to overcome the segregation of people in weak and fragile conditions, for asserting the principles of solidarity, love and justice for the greater good of our people.

The city of Parma's Gold Medal was awarded to GIAN PAOLO USBERTI, for having directed with intelligence and far-sightedness the old Parmesan Ateneo institute towards new and skilled goals contributing to the development of culture, art and research, obtaining the maximum prestige and well-being for the city and its people.

The Certificate of Public Merit was awarded to RENZO BOMPANI, for the professional competence, the human sensibility and the civil commitment with which he has carried out his medical profession, in favour of the infirm and the old people of the city and the local ways.

The Certificate of Public Merit was awarded to FAUSTO CANTARELLI, for the constant activity of scholar and organizer, in favour of the technical and scientific updating of Parmesan agriculture, contributing with this to the major well-being of our people.

The Certificate of Public Merit was awarded to MARIA CARRA, for having worked for forty years with greatly skilled workmanship as dressmaker of the Teatro Regio, keeping alive a highly qualified profession.

The Certificate of Public Merit was awarded to GUGLIELMO CATUZZI, for the activity in favour of the plant design and installation development and the sporting organization of our city.

The Certificate of Public Merit was awarded to UGO FALAVIGNA, for having preserved and developed the Parmesan tradition in the art of cake making, following a refined craft.

The Certificate of Public Merit was awarded to MAURIZIO SILVA, for having developed with great sensibility and professional rigour, together with his own family, the art of tipography, continuing a tradition of style and culture.

The Certificate of Public Merit was awarded to ERCOLE ZANONI, daily occupied as a voluntary in the canteen of the Hostel, with dedication and personal sacrifice has aided the down and out.
